Spring/Summer 2011

16 Apr

you may have already retired your winter coat, started to plan a vacation, and been enjoying sangria or maragaritas on the few warm nights we have had so far this season. summer is on it’s way, and i could not be more excited. i have been creating inpiration boards during the winter funk lock in days to lift my spirits and also to share with all of you! enjoy, here is a little bit of what summer is going to look like for dorothyjune!

buttons and a macchiato

9 Apr

spring spring! my favorite time of year. it is a beautiful day after a few depressive chilly ones, so quickly before we go enjoy the sunshine…

it has been a successful week of getting last minute orders out, planning events, and getting our collections organized.   to celebrate, we indulged in a delicious thai/philippino fused meal right down the street from our apt.  the food was amazing: flavorful, spicy, just what we needed to beat the cold. that taste of summer jump-started my brain to really start designing/producing some warm weather baubles.  expect to see more wood, hammered metal, light simple pieces, and some big bold color.

we are off to the  flea market to dig for buttons and to check out a new cafe in our ‘hood.

here is a little taste of our spring jewelry staples. hoops, long necklaces, wrists full of bangles, and big rings are classic summer bling.

let us make something to perfect your summer style. email us your ideas!

Is it finally Spring?

2 Apr

Although fighting off the colds and flu this season was no party, being held captive in the studio was very beneficial for the beginning of dorothyjune’s summer line.  We will be posting new images very soon showing our inspiration, new pieces, and ideas for future designs.

some up and coming events:

custom prom jewelry, “mother and daughter”, and “Re-made” jewelry parties in the works!

dorothyjune is traveling to Houston this summer (yee haw!)…creating pieces for a bride to be and making connections along the way

we are always searching for new boutiques to carry our collections, as well as spread the word about our parties and custom designs.

warm weather and sunshine means that we will be spending our weekends combing through flea markets, rummage sales, and open markets.  we hope to find some amazing buttons, keys, and other small treasures to turn into summer jewels for everyone…

For now we are off to walk around Park Slope in the sunshine and enjoy this beautiful day! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
